Motorcycle Accident in San Diego’s Gaslamp District Leaves Rider Without Three Toes

A September 10 collision between a motorcycle and a car in San Diego’s famous Gaslamp Quarter left the rider of the motorcycle injured and without three of his toes, authorities say.

San Diego police reported that the motorcycle accident, which happened just before noon, occurred when the motorcycle ran a red light at the Sixth Avenue and Broadway intersection striking a southbound Toyota Camry. Three of the toes had been severed, and paramedics who arrived on the scene transported him to a nearby trauma center. It was necessary for police to shut down the entire intersection through to the early afternoon for cleanup and investigation of the San Diego motorcycle accident.
