Collision Between Motorcycle and Truck Kills Motorcyclist

A traffic collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle has left at least one dead in a fatal wreck in Riverside County last week, that looks similar to many experienced throughout California. Shortly after 5 p.m. on September 1, 2009, police officers from Riverside responded to the reported wreck within the city to investigate the matters.

The motorcycle had been driving north along Grand Avenue in Riverside near Jurupa Avenue, when a Chevy S10 pickup made a lefthand turn into a driveway from southbound Grand in front of the motorcycle. The collision occurred between the right front fender of the truck and the motorcycle, and the motorcyclist was ejected from his ride. The 39-year-old victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital by paramedics, but died as a result of his injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Riverside Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team is looking to look into the matters further, and anyone with leads is asked to call Detective Joe Avila at (951) 353-7985.
