San Diego Motorcycle Accident Injures 5 Motorcyclists

Five motorcyclists were injured in a San Diego motorcycle accident that happened on April 3, 2010 on State Route 94 (SR-94) east of Kelton Road in San Diego’s Oak Park area. The accident took place around 9:30 a.m.

Reportedly, 100 motorcyclists had taken to the road and were traveling east along the freeway. Two separate collisions occurred, injuring two motorcyclists in the first collision and three in the second one. Two motorcycle riders suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital.  The accident was so severe that it caused a closure of 3 of the freeway’s 5 lanes of traffic.

We wish the injured riders a quick recovery. Although there is not much information available at this time, it is assumed that the motorcyclists escaped serious injury.  Riding your motorcycle in a pack takes extra concentration since your bike is in close proximity with other motorcyclists and their bikes.  A sudden or unexpected maneuver by anyone in the pack can cause contact and an accident can occur that seriously injures or even kills multiple riders.
