San Diego Man Killed in Highway 78 Motorcycle Accident

The San Diego Union Tribune brought to light a fatal motorcycle accident when Carl Davis Jr., 28 of San Diego, lost his life in a fatal motorcycle accident. He was riding a 2007 CVR 6000 motorcycle eastbound on Highway 78, when suddenly his motorcycle crossed into westbound traffic. Davis had a head-on collision with a 1976 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old San Diego man.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the motorcycle crash that lead to loss of life of this young man. Investigations will reveal if speed or other factors contributed to the traffic collision. Our condolences are with everyone who knew and loved Davis. We understand how devastating and heartbreaking it can be to lose a dear one in such a sudden and unexpected way.

Travel on Highway 78 has been ill-fated for several people. This highway transitions from a freeway to two-lane highway around the Santa Rosa Mountains. This leaves portions of road very vulnerable and prone to accidents. Every year people lose their lives due to accidents on this highway.
