Four Year Old Tulare Boy Dies in Motorcycle Crash

On the morning of Monday May 10, 2010, a four year old Tulare boy was killed when both the boy and the driver of a dirt bike were thrown away from their vehicle.  The young boy then was run over by another dirt bike that was following the first.

According to California Highway Patrol, the dirt bike, which was stolen, was travelling at a high speed when it struck a steel cable on the unpaved road off Avenue 168 and Road 168 near Woodville.  The unidentified child along with the driver were taken to the fire department and were later taken via ambulance to the hospital.

On reaching the hospital, the boy was declared dead.  The driver, EduardoMartinez, was treated for his head injuries. According to the CHP, neither the boy nor the driver was wearing a helmet.  However, it is not known what relation, if any, the boy and Martinez had with one another.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the little boy’s family.  They are no doubt devastated by their loss.  The accident raises a number of questions however.  What was the young boy doing on the back of a stolen dirt bike?  Why would Martinez place him there?  What is their relationship?  These are the questions that will haunt his family until they are answered.
