Enrique Jose Salas, 46, was killed in a motorcycle crash that occurred at the intersection of Silver Saddle Street and Turner Avenue in Ontario on June 13, 2010 at 11:15 a.m. Salas was believed to be riding his Honda motorcycle southbound on Turner when he was struck by a Ford Ranger pickup that had lost control while making a left turn.
Salas was immediately taken to Chino Valley Medical Center where he died at 12:07 p.m. The investigation is being carried out by the Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit to determine the exact reason of this fatal car crash.
We offer our condolences to the Salas family for this tragic and devastating loss. If it is the Ford driver whose negligence has caused this crash, then Salas family entitled for legal compensation. However, probably the most important lesson that can be learned from this unfortunate traffic accident is that motorcycle riders need to always be vigilant and to look out for dangers while riding their bikes. Motorcyclists are unprotected and exposed while they are riding. A simple bump or impact can send a rider flying off his motorcycle and lead to a fatal injury or one that leads to permanent disability. Always make sure that you are wearing protective clothing and operating your bike in a way that you can avoid unexpected collisions which rear their ugly heads.
