Saul Castro, 63 of Mira Loma, died due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in southwestern Fontana. According to San Bernardino’s County Coroner Department, Castro was travelling in the west bound direction on Slover Avenue just west of Redwood Avenue on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle on July 10, 2010 around 6:03p.m.
Castro was sideswiped by another motorcycle, throwing him off the bike. Paramedics reached the accident scene and transported Castro to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at July 11, 2010 at 1:10 a.m. Â The other motorcyclist did not sustain any injuries but the right side of his motorcycle was a bit damaged.
We offer our deepest condolences to the Castro’s family for such a demoralizing and irrevocable loss. The Fontana Police Department is investigating the cause of this traffic collision. It is possible that speed and a right-of-way violation by the other motorcyclist may have played a part in this fatal collision. The results of the official investigation will likely shed more light on what occurred here. If the other driver is found to be at fault, Castro’s family may be entitled for a compensation to cover the cost of funeral arrangements, loss of love and companionship, loss of earning capacity, and other related damages.
