A 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a serious motorcycle accident that occurred on July 22, 2011, around 7:20 p.m. near the Campo Indian Reservation. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Pennings, the victim was driving his Suzuki motorcycle when he drifted off the state Route 94 (SR-94) and struck a power pole. The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of accident.
An unidentified motorist was killed in a head-on car accident that occurred on July 19, 2011, around 6:38 a.m. at Golden Era Studios in Gilman Hot Springs. According to the responding California Highway Patrol Officers, a maroon Volvo and a white Chevy truck was involved in this head-on wreck. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the accident scene around 7:11 a.m.
20-year-old Bryan Hodges was killed in an Orange County motorcycle accident that occurred on July 11, 2011, around 5:22 p.m. at Euclid Street and Country Hills Drive in La Habra. The collision happened when a car traveling northbound on Euclid started to make a left turn onto westbound Country Hills. At this time, Hodges and another motorcyclist were traveling southbound on Euclid. The vehicle turned left in front of the two bikers. The other biker avoided the collision but Hodges crashed into the vehicle, driven by a licensed juvenile.
47-year-old Upland resident Ray Muniz was struck and killed by a truck on July 8, 2011, around 5:15 p.m. at Nocta Street in Ontario. According to San Bernardino County Coroner’s office, Muniz was traveling northbound in the left lane of Grove Avenue, when a truck in the right lane slowed and attempted a U-turn.
24-year-old Walter Gutierrez was killed in a serious motorcycle accident that occurred on July 6, 2011, around 1:30 p.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway near Mugu Rock. According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Tony Viaropulos, 37-year-old Oxnard resident Mindee Martinez pulled her car in front of Gutierrez’s motorcycle, who hit the driver’s side of her car.
An unidentified motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in an Escondido motorcycle accident that occurred on July 2, 2011, around 10:50 a.m. on Interstate 15 (I-15). According to the California Highway Patrol Officers, the biker collided with a van near the El Norte Parkway exit.
A 51-year-old Riverside man was killed in a solo motorcycle accident that occurred on June 29, 2011, 12:18 a.m. along Interstate 215 (I-215) at the 3000 block of La Cadena Drive in Colton. According to Lt. Chuck deDianous, the biker was riding his 2005 Harley Davidson south on La Cadena Drive when the bike jumped a curb and hit a chain link fence.
