A Riverside County man was hospitalized Monday, May 1, 2010, with serious injuries due to a motorcycle accident on State Route 76 (SR-76) in the Pala area of San Diego County. He is reported to have burns over almost all his body.

San Diego Man Killed in Highway 78 Motorcycle Accident

The San Diego Union Tribune brought to light a fatal motorcycle accident when Carl Davis Jr., 28 of San Diego, lost his life in a fatal motorcycle accident. He was riding a 2007 CVR 6000 motorcycle eastbound on Highway 78, when suddenly his motorcycle crossed into westbound traffic. The deceased motorcycle rider was riding southbound on Florida Drive when a 2005 Volvo sedan suddenly pulled out into his path and crashed into him. The motorcyclist was hurled onto the roadway where he was hit by a second vehicle. The rider, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died at the scene. The driver of the sedan was arrested by the San Diego Police Department on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter.
